Ava Leigh Stewart is the author of eight books and works as a Director, Producer, Writer, and Designer in the entertainment industry. Her first novel, Everything in Between, centers around college freshman McLean Edwards coming of age. A Memoir of Oblivion, her second novel is a non-fiction story about an accident that left her mother with a traumatic brain injury. Brain Damage, her third novel, gives a prescient message concerning the dark side of U.S. Health care for patients and families affected by a traumatic accident. Her latest novel, a historical action adventure drama, will be completed at the end of 2011. She started her career at CNN – climbing the ranks of news production. She spearheaded the team that implemented digital asset management across all divisions of CNN and Turner Broadcasting. She was instrumental in CNN’s coverage of September 11th, The War in Afghanistan, and The War in Iraq. This included the use of Internet technologies never before incorporated in news coverage in every area of media. Her team created the first wireless video service prototype, as well as the broadband products for CNN Video for both online and cable syndication. In 2004, she created the design CNN integrated between television and the Internet for the Tsunami Disaster. The online special won numerous accolades, including a National Headline Award for the innovative approach that allowed survivors to use the web tools to communicate. During her tenure at CNN.com, the website was voted number one for four straight years and won multiple Webby Awards. In 2004 the War in Iraq special won an Eppy for Best Overall Network TV/Cable affiliated Internet Service & Best Internet Special Feature. In 2006, after completing two post-graduate degrees in Business Information Systems and Film, she founded Art West Film in Los Angeles to pursue projects in film, television, and new media. She has worked in the American and European film industry for major studios and independent production companies in all areas of production, development, and new media. In 2011, she has produced the documentary State of Control about the humanitarian crisis in Tibet. She was the production designer for Tripping Tommy, a film by Philippe Caland, and the television series Dark Sorcery. She has worked for Time Warner, CNN, Turner, Disney, AEG, and many others, her past projects can be found on IMDB. She is currently in development with another documentary entitled, Ordinary America about the diverse mosaic of culture found in the United States. She is set to direct a new short film entitled, South of Southern, and a feature film entitled, Sisters of Suburbia. She writes and produces a web series entitled, Hidden Archaeology that details accounts of historical anomalies found in archaeology and human history. She is developing the web properties and series, Redwinesnob & Whitewinesnob. She just finished working on the Happiness Series television pilot and web series, as well as a website redesign for the University of Denver’s Daniels College of Business. She has four published books of poetry, Intus, Beyond Fear, Fledgling Darlings and Symphony of Chaos. Her poetry books use paintings, illustrations, photography, and graphic designs to animate the words on the page. Her illustrations and compositions use quantum physics to capture simultaneous moments within reality as a parallel to the beats or structure found in poetry. By distorting the image of reality they show a different level of reflection. The words from the poems become animated by the visual representation of the work. Broadside Ballads, a book of essays will be published at the beginning of 2012, as well as a new book of poetry entitled, Waxing Eloquent.
